Classic Mobility Hertford

Our New Showroom in Hertford

We are pleased to announce that our new showroom in Hertford makes it much easier for clients and potential customers to visit us. As part of the TechMed group, Classic Mobility has moved to new premises where an array of disability requirements can be met.

The same thorough services and a wide variety of goods to assist with our less mobile customers are available from our combined new home. We hope to see many more of you face-to-face! Please visit us at:

We also take this opportunity to announce that Classic Mobility's co-founder has retired as a director, leaving the company after almost 25 years at its helm. He now offers a broad range of multi-skilled services in the home counties north of the Thames and the south midlands. It was a pleasure to work with him and we wish him every success.

Helping Audrey to Remain Independent

Classic Mobility works with TechMed to provide a service to clients for small adaptations, such as ramps and handrails, to make their lives easier. We received a referral to assist Audrey, a lovely lady who asked us to replace steps with a gentle ramp.

Audrey can walk with assistance (e.g. handrails) but finds steps difficult. She also uses a wheelchair for longer forays with friends and family, therefore the steps from the front door were a hindrance. Audrey wanted to be more independent and the ramp has given her confidence to exit her house unaided.

'The only option for me to escape the confines of my house was a bespoke access ramp. This was so cleverly designed and expertly crafted by Classic Mobility and now allows me the easy access and departure I desired, thank you again.'

1000 Mile Cycle Challenge

Our Office Manager, Carol, has set herself a 1000-mile cycle challenge for 2018, with a target of £1 per mile so that her chosen charity for Breast Cancer research can receive £1,000 towards their excellent work.

In 2015, Carol had to have a mastectomy. The support she received during the months of treatment and rehabilitation that followed made her determined to enjoy life and inspired her to raise money in aid of Cancer Research UK (youcanbeatbreastcancer.org). This is a way of 'giving something back' to help future generations beat cancer.

Please visit Carol's 'Just Giving' page which tells her story in her own words. If you would like to donate and support Carol's challenge, that would be lovely.

Update: Carol completed her challenge of 1,000 miles and is still hoping to reach her goal of £1,000.
